Coming soon to TheWake

Grief doesn't keep office hours.

WakeCare is a moderated community for people living with loss. Rooms that stay open at 3am. Guided courses when you're ready for them. Nobody rushing you toward "closure".

One email when the doors open. Nothing else.

You're on the list.

Check your inbox to confirm your address. After that, the next email we send is the day WakeCare opens.

There is no week four when it's supposed to lift. It arrives on a Tuesday in a supermarket aisle, eleven months in. We built this for the Tuesdays.

What's inside

Somewhere to bring it, whenever it comes.

Rooms, not feeds

Small moderated spaces grouped by the loss you're carrying. No algorithm, no like counts, no strangers scrolling past.

Courses at your pace

Short guided programmes on the parts nobody warns you about: the paperwork, the first anniversary, the friends who go quiet.

People who stay

Trained facilitators and members further along the road. Post at any hour. Someone will still be there tomorrow.

The rooms

Sit with people who understand your loss.

Grief for a parent isn't grief for a child. Each room is for one kind of loss, so you don't have to explain yourself before you're understood.

  • Loss of a parent
  • Loss of a partner
  • Loss of a child
  • Loss of a sibling
  • Loss of a friend
  • Pregnancy & infant loss
  • Loss to suicide
  • Sudden loss
  • Caring for someone who is dying

More rooms open as the community grows. Tell us what you need when you join.

Safety

A quiet place, carefully kept.

People come to WakeCare on the hardest days of their lives. We're building it around a few promises.

  • Every room is moderatedTrained people look after each room, so it stays kind, on topic and free of spam.
  • Private to membersWhat you share stays inside WakeCare. It isn't public, and it doesn't appear on your tribute pages.
  • Share as much as you wantRead without posting for as long as you like. Speak when you're ready.

Questions

Before you sign up

When does WakeCare open?

We're opening to the waitlist first, in small groups, so every room starts with enough moderators. Everyone on the list gets one email the day their place is ready.

Is WakeCare therapy?

No. WakeCare is peer support: people who understand, guided by trained facilitators. It can sit alongside counselling or therapy, but it doesn't replace them.

My loss was a long time ago. Is it still for me?

Yes. There's no deadline on grief, and no "too late" to want company in it. Many members are years into their loss.

Can I sign up for someone else?

You can join the waitlist on their behalf and pass the invitation on when it arrives. We'd only ask that they choose to join themselves.

What happens to my email address?

We use it to tell you when WakeCare opens, and nothing else. See our privacy policy.

WakeCare is peer support, not crisis care. If you're in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please call your local emergency number now, or find a free, confidential crisis line in your country at findahelpline.com.
