Coming soon to TheWake

Write down what only you know.

Where the accounts are. What the passwords open. Who should be called first, and what you'd want read aloud. WakeLegacy is a private place to record it, so the people you love aren't left guessing.

One email when it opens. Nothing else. Unsubscribe in one click.

You're on the list.

Check your inbox to confirm your address. After that, the next email we send is the day WakeLegacy opens.

  1. 01

    Gather

Accounts, subscriptions, documents, keys. Everything scattered across a life, in one index.

  2. 02

    Record

Your wishes, in your words. Not a form to fill, but a page to write on.

  3. 03

    Assign

Name one person you trust. They see nothing until it's time.

  4. 04

    Seal

Locked and dated. Reopen it whenever life changes.

Why it matters

The questions families ask in the first week.

  • "Did she have life insurance? With whom?"
  • "How do we get into his phone?"
  • "Which bills are still coming out of the account?"
  • "Did he want to be buried, or cremated?"

Most of these answers live in one person's head. WakeLegacy gives them a place to be written down, before anyone has to go looking.

What's inside

Three things your family shouldn't have to search for.

An index of everything

Every account, policy and subscription in one list, with a note on what should happen to each one.

Letters with a date on them

Write to someone now. Choose when it reaches them: a birthday, an anniversary, or the day after.

One trusted keyholder

You name them. They're told only when it's time, and only they can open what you left.

Privacy

Built to stay closed until it's needed.

What you write in WakeLegacy is some of the most personal information you own. We're designing it around a few promises.

  • Private by defaultNothing in your legacy record appears on your tribute, your profile or anywhere public on TheWake.
  • You choose who, and whenOnly the keyholder you name can open it, and only after the release steps you set.
  • Change it any timeEdit, reseal or delete your record whenever life changes. It's yours.

Questions

Before you sign up

When does WakeLegacy open?

We're opening it to the waitlist first, in small groups. Everyone on the list gets one email the day their access is ready.

Does it replace a will?

No. WakeLegacy is a place for the practical details and personal wishes a will usually leaves out. Keep your will with a lawyer; you can note in WakeLegacy where to find it.

Do I need a TheWake account?

Not to join the waitlist. When WakeLegacy opens, you'll use a TheWake account to create your record. If you already have one, it will just work.

What happens to my email address?

We use it to tell you when WakeLegacy is ready, and nothing else. See our privacy policy.
